one of the most satisfying feelings is beating your own mind at its games. all throughout my days in competitive cheerleading I ALWAYS got in my own head. I wish I had the knowledge I have now, it would have made things a bit easier. I can’t say I’m always successful, a lot of the time I’m struggling. when I’m lifting, I get all kinds of negative thoughts… with that comes the anxiety which only makes it 10x worse… my head will start spinning.
what I’ve learned and am trying to use for everything that I do is that “you are not your thoughts”. When something pops into my head: my response is “okay. I had that thought.” Nothings happening though. Nothing changed. Nothing is going wrong… I need to remain calm in the moment and CONTINUE to do what I’m doing. Push through it, not run from it. accept that the anxiety is there and move forward. I’m not always successful, but I’m trying! I hope this is helpful to those who needed a reminder to push through you’re lift/ whatever you’re doing!💗
